FAQs
When is the best time to give the Electrolyte paste—before, during, or after a ride or event?
Our syringe is great before a ride or event as well as after to help speed up recovery. If it is very hot, humid, or if your horse works extra hard or sweats profusely, a third can occasionally be given in between. Ensure your horse has access to water after giving the electrolyte paste.
Can I give my horse a Redmond Daily Gold syringe with the Electrolyte paste?
While it’s safe to give your horse both a Daily Gold syringe and Electrolyte paste, we recommend spacing the doses at least 45 minutes apart. Both products are best absorbed when administered separately.
Can I give Electrolyte to pregnant mares?
You sure can! Redmond Electrolyte contains electrolytes, trace minerals, and vitamins that benefit every horse—especially pregnant mares. Pregnancy is a critical time for mares to receive minerals and electrolytes needed to sustain both themselves and their foals.
How many Electrolyte syringes can I safely give in one day?
We recommend not exceeding three a day. Your horse will benefit from electrolytes before and after exercising or performing. If it is very hot, humid, or if your horse is working exceptionally hard or sweating profusely, you may give a third syringe in between. Always ensure your horse has access to water after giving the syringe. Learn here what situations to feed horses an electrolyte supplement.
