I have a couple horses with bad allergies and having the Daily Red Fortified with garlic helps repel the flies and really helps stretch the fly spray. I also really like the Crushed salt with garlic. I will use either this or Daily Red Fortified Garlic starting in March (we live in Wyoming, so it's still cold) all the way through to fall. I find it's helpful to start with garlic a couple months before the flies are out so it’s fully in their system. I feed the regular Daily Red all winter. I try to stay as natural as possible, and the garlic helps me do that while helping my horses stay comfortable.

FIRST TIME USING DAILY RED CRUSHED GARLIC? HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Start feeding Daily Red Crushed Garlic 2-3 weeks before fly season starts at your location. Regular consumption will create an odor that pests stay away from, but it takes 2-3 weeks for that to happen.

Remember, Daily Red Fortified Garlic is not a pesticide, it is a repellent. Pests may still hover nearby, but you will see fewer flies and ticks on landing on and biting horses.

Feed the recommended dose daily to encourage hydration, deliver trace minerals, and as a natural repellent for flies, mosquitoes, ticks, and other biting insects. You can overfeed garlic, but if you follow the dosage instructions, your horse will be safe.

Wiinter cough help?

While we have used the garlic salt in the summer for mosquito repellent support, we usually stopped in October. Most winters one or two of the horses have a dry cough that often lasts into the summer. The vet suggested garlic when the mare developed an early cough. Since we restarted feeding the garlic salt, we haven't heard the horses coughing. We didn't change anything else, so it seems like the garlic salt is probably the reason.

Bioidentical garlic

I loved this product and used it regularly for my nine horses until I realized they're using bioengineered garlic how sad....I used this salt bc I felt it was most natural but it isn't....:-(

Daily Red fortified garlic

It has taken my horses a few days to get used to eating the salt but with some applesauce mixed in they are eating it now! I do think I am seeing less flies which is amazing!!
