My program is all hands on. We do not have grooms so the students learn all the aspects of horsemanship

Silver Lining Stables
Each horse and rider take their own time to learn. Patience and understanding is a huge part of my training program. I feel I have a strong foundation in horsemanship. The horses always come first. What drives my passion is seeing those moments where horse/rider get it and everything just comes together. The smile says it all.

Patience and the willingness to be a lifelong student and openness to try different approaches is how I overcome challenges. Every person and horse is different so its important to be open to approaching from different angles. I love working with youth. They are the future of horse and rodeo industry and creating a solid foundation they will build upon help keep the horse industry strong. I have a passion for the goals both horses and riders achieve in the training process. Small achievable goals and a plan to follow with the ability to make changes.

I really try to dissect and explain challenges that come up in training, so the rider understands exactly where the issue is and how to not only fix, but also, prevent the issue. I tend to do really well with training people with confidence issues and green pairs due to this approach. I really love developing a relationship with the horses and helping to build relationships between the horses and their owners.

The horse comes first. No matter the discipline I strive for soft willing CONFIDENT horses who are happy and comfortable.

Crashed Performance Horses
1. No two horses are the same. I find that most issues with horses come from a place of fear and a lack of feeling safe. Most challenges with horses aren't physical but are more so mental. Most horses want a friend who understands what they are thinking. I try to be that. 2. I'm incredibly good with "hot" or sensitive horses. They work well in my program. 3. Being able to help people and horses has always been a passion. I enjoy starting young horses and giving confidence to older horses. Seeing the future success is amazing

Training isn't just giving a horse a job, training is much more. For me, training is about the look in the horse's eye when they finally figure out that one obstacle. To overcome those challenges I use a lot of pressure and release. I specialize in colt starting, I believe I’m good at colt starting because as I was growing up I was always the test dummy. I was thrown on every horse in the barn, I rode a lot of horse who bucked.

I offer a scientific approach to working with equines. I work with equines of all breeds and sizes. I like to work with the way that they learn not they way I think they should learn. I started my first driving horse when I was ten years old and have enjoyed it ever since. My passion as a trainer is the satisfaction I get from furthering a horse to be of use for people even as they age and can no longer ride and seeing how happy an owner is when they can now ride their equine.

Working with horses, it's not if, it's when a challenge arises. No challenge is the same, but I allow the horse to figure it out on their time, making what I ask clear for them. A rushed horse develops holes and causes problems down the road. I have worked a lot of horses over the years, and dealt with many "problem" horses. I have fixed many holes in a horses training foundation. Seeing a horse go from unhappy and reactive, to a willing horse, that's happy and loving their job is what drives me to do what I do!

Horsemanship isn’t learned overnight, weeks, months or even years. It’s something you never stop trying to perfect; it’s the most important aspect to any discipline.

From the Ground Up Training
Horse training isn't something that is "one size fits all", every horse is different that's why I've strived to continue to learn everything I can from various trainers in various disciplines so that I can adapt to each horse. I'd like to think I'm pretty diverse, coming up with an English background trainer that studied Ray Hunt. I've ventured in many things from speed events/rodeo to trail trials and showing. I love traditional methods. I truly feel the most joy starting, training young horses and I strive to put a well rounded foundation on every horse no matter the discipline.

It's is great to be able to teach horses, but when you sit back and learn from them is when things become incredible!

SK Equine Performance
Sometimes it's important to remember that as emergency get frustrated so do the horses. It's ok to take a step back let them take a deep breath and reset. Not everything has to happen at one time! I feel like I excel with nervous horses that aren't confident, I have ran in many settings with so many different amounts of pressure allowing me to channel and focus my nerves and no project them on my four legged partner. I love the thrill and the rush you get when you make great runs after a horse you've trained.

Our unique program can be tailored to your specific dreams, and our passion is making your horse dreams come true!

Seeing the "change" is what drives my passion to be a horse trainer. Taking a horse that is struggling or that hasn't been started and watching them blossom and mature is what is such a gratifying experience. I strive to put a solid foundation on every horse that comes in the barn and always go the extra step to make sure that they are quiet and confident through every aspect of the training process. Challenges do occur, but sending a clear message as to what you are asking and always having a proper release is what really makes a difference.

My niche in the training world would be working with colts and giving them a foundation they can use the rest of their lives. My passion is driven by watching horses go from their first ride to seasoned and winning performance horses.

If I find there's a bump in a horses training, I find ways to get them thinking and reacting more fluidly and carefully. I feel like I do well with problem horses because I can figure out what they need or what they might be missing in their time of training. Being able to bring out the horse's full potential drives me to be more passionate about my job. It's amazing to see what the horse can do and how talented they really are. We do not give them enlighten credit even when they do like to frustrate us sometimes.

I tend to approach challenges emotionally and in a way, understand what a horse is trying to emote. I use pressure and release a good bit and try to never reach the breaking point for horse or human. I've found that I'm really good at creating quiet horses. I tend to be a loud person naturally and use that to my advantage. Most of my horses have been exposed to a multitude of things that others haven't, just by my nature. It's been a childhood dream to make myself proud of what I do, and so far, I am.

Handling training challenges varies a bit between horse vs. human students but the most crucial aspect remains the same: You have to get good at discerning the right moments to push a little and the moments when it is crucial you let up a bit. I have developed a fair bit of this "discernment" I mentioned; because of that I tend to be good with young or difficult horses and coaching confidence into my riding students. My passion for the sport has always been innate, I love the animals and am a bit of an adrenaline junkie.

As a horseman, my goal is always to work with where the horse is at in the moment. Often times, I get horses who are mentally troubled. They haven't been allowed to find the right answer but told what the right answer should be. That's where people tend to run into trouble. Helping a horse get into the right frame of mind will illuminate most of your problems. As an endurance rider, safety on the trail is a priority. People will send me horses to make sure that they are solid citizens outside of a ring.

With 40 years of horse experience, I discover something new every day. That's amazing. They are individuals and teach you something new. They learn and respond will give you all they have if you learn how to ask them. Teaching people to get the best out of their horses and the best way to communicate with them is the most rewarding thing. Teaching people how to care for horses the right way keeps them out of the rescue/slaughter pipeline. Much of my life is dedicated to 'fixing' problems and 'saving' horses from bad situations. They all deserve a chance!

With patience and kindness, we can walk together towards a common goal. So many "worthless horses" and "broken people" have found their way courtesy of having the patience to find an effective way to communicate. Celebrating progress, achievement, praise as much as we do correct. Create an environment conducive to learning, create a kinder and more accepting equestrian environment. We overcome challenges in training by first making sure the rider is communicating clearly with their horse as to what results the rider wants. I do not just blame the horse. If their is a confusion between horse and rider, we work hard to clarify and achieve the results we are looking for. If there is still an issue, we will then look deeper to see why and make sure there is not an issue with saddle fit or the horse has something preventing it from achieving the result. This is our niche and drives our passion.

My approach to training/teaching is that the horse is a direct reflection of the rider’s own biomechanics. If the rider is crooked and off balance, then the horse will be as well. It is my goal for the riders to learn and understand how their own body has a direct effect on the horse in the way it moves and performs. Understanding this makes you a better rider, competitor, and companion to your horse.

Slow is Fast!! To be the best at being fast you must start slow and insure the horse and rider have a solid foundation.

Every challenge must be broken down to cause and effect. Discovering the true source of the challenge must be known to develop the appropriate sustainable solution. I teach to break everything down to one step at a time, simplifying for success. I love watching the aha moments, when someone gains confidence because they understand the concept, not just the action but also the why.

Preserving our equine athletes is the first step to the winner's circle. By giving our horses the correct start they need. Physically and mentally.

GC Performance Horses
Taking a step back, taking a different look at the problem, and moving forward at a new angle. I give horses the confidence they need. Help them blossom into themselves. Help them develop their courage. The horses. Everytime I get in the saddle I am at home. Also, the pride I have when watching them succeed!

We focus on well rounded, safe and effective horsemanship. Learning from the ground up. Our students learn to catch, halter, lead and groom first.

Ireland's Run
To overcome challenges we believe in looking at each student and situation individually and communicating with all involved to find a solution. My niche is building confidence in beginner riders and giving them to tools to move forward to more advanced riding. My passion is instilling the love of horses into the next generation.

1. When overcoming challenges when training horses is listening to their needs. Often times it can be frustrating when horse are being "challenging". Take a step back and reevaluate what the baseline issue might be. 2. I would have to say my niche is including riders of all backgrounds, sexual orientations and all shapes and sizes. As someone apart of the LGBTQ+ community and being a male equestrian, I found acceptance to be hard. It's so important to make everyone feel accepted. 3. The love of horses and the bond you form with these amazing animals.

Horses are my best teachers. My livelihood and businesses rely on horses. As I continue on this journey I am always learning from the horse..

Red Rock Ranch
My passion for training horses lies in the realm of learning from them. Comprehending transitions, rhythms and patience are at the core of my training beliefs. Particular situations that “happened before they happened”, allows me to try to understand horses during challenging situations. With over 35 years’ experience of working performance, trail, young and rehabilitating horses, I have learned the fundamentals of basic horsemanship…. Giving to pressure, and being relaxed are all intrinsically known to a young horse. Tapping into this intelligence gets me up in the mornings and excites me to train horses. This journey is endless, adventuresome and fulfilling.
