ARE YOU LOOKING FOR AN ALL-NATURAL SALT BLOCKS?

"A lot of horse salt blocks have added chemicals and are not naturals. I did not like the way they're produced and did not want to put them in my horses' systems. Redmond Rock is a natural salt rock that is mined out the ground. My horses like it, they lick it, and it works "

   WHAT MAKES REDMOND ROCK

DIFFERNT FROM A MINERAL BLOCK

Redmond provides salts licks for horses to replace essential trace minerals and to trigger their thirst for water. But not all horses licks are created equal. Manufactured, pressed blocks usually contain six or seven artificially-added minerals. If your horses doesn't like the salt or mineral  block you put out, if it doesn't tastes good, she won't lick it.

REDMOND ROCK FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does Redmond Rock last?

On average, a 9-pound Redmond Rock lasts one horse about three months. If your horse is depleted in salt and minerals, it may consume more Redmond Rock until its body reaches a healthy mineral level.

Does Redmond Rock hold up in wet weather?

Redmond Rock is a very dense product because Mother Nature placed it under extreme underground pressure for thousands of years. Redmond Rock is soluble but holds up in rain and snow much better than manufactured, pressed blocks.

Can my horse eat too much Redmond Rock salt?

It’s possible but unlikely. Horses balance salt and mineral intake by drinking water. Without water, your horse could run into trouble. Always provide access to fresh, clean water to flush out excess salt. Read this article to learn more: https://blog.redmondequine.com/can-my-horse-overeat-salt

What if my horse won't eat Redmond Rock?

This occasionally happens. Here are a few possible reasons:

  1. Your horse doesn’t like licking things, maybe because of a sensitive tongue.
  2. Your horse is getting enough salt and minerals from another mineral source.
  3. Your forage is exceptional and provides the minerals your horse needs.

Redmond salt vs. Himalayan salt: Are they the same?

No! Redmond Rock salt is mined in the USA. (We kind of like that.) Redmond Rock also contains around 7% mineral content compared to 3% of most Pakistani-mined Himalayan rock.
